For many products, you’ll see there’s an option to extend or upgrade the standard warranty or even add insurance. As the cost for these services is calculated based on the product, you won’t see the price until you add the item to your cart.
As soon as you’ve added the product to the cart, you’ll see a window pop up where you can configure the warranty (as long as this option is available on that given product).
In many cases, the manufacturer will let you extend the warranty to three or five years. The warranty overview you see for each product will list all the options available to you. That means if you only see a five-year warranty extension, the manufacturer doesn’t offer a three-year option.
Upgrades let you build on the manufacturer warranty. Say a product offers a bring-in warranty, you can switch this to an on-site warranty or even upgrade to a premium express service warranty. We’d recommend the premium option if you’re dependent on your device. That’s because you’re guaranteed to get your device replaced, repaired or the cost of it credited in your Digitec Galaxus AG account within 24 hours of the repair centre receiving it. The price of warranty upgrades will also show on the screen as soon as you have added the product to your cart. Alternatively, you can click on the «Additional services» button once the product is in your cart.
Together with Allianz, we offer one-year or two-year insurance on lots of our products. This covers most types of damage and incidents that aren’t part of manufacturer warranty. You can find more information in this PDF.
